91ߣƵ Deane’s has reinforced its position as one of the UK’s highest performing sixth form colleges after yet another record-breaking set of A level and BTEC results.
An incredible 80% of all A level grades awarded to 91ߣƵ Deane’s students were A*, A or B, far surpassing the national average and even better than last year’s record high-grade success.
The number of A*-A grades also hit an all-time high for the College, at an unprecedented 50% of all entries, while A* grades alone accounted for 19%.
Those studying BTEC also had much to celebrate with 96% of all entries awarded a Distinction or Distinction* and all students achieving a Merit or higher.
Principal Christopher Atherton, said: “These incredible results are a testament to the exceptional effort our students have put in, surpassing even last year’s extraordinary exam success. The dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence of staff and students has continued our remarkable journey of record-breaking results. This is a moment of great celebration for our entire college community.”
Among the many individual success stories, 52 students achieved incredible straight A* success in three or more subjects, while 255 students achieved straight A / A * grades.
The majority of students will now be preparing for their next steps, having secured their first-choice destinations, including some of the UK’s most sought-after university places as well as a number of competitive higher level and degree apprenticeships.
One of those students, Chili Cheung, who previously attended The County High School Leftwich, achieved straight A*s in Economics, Maths and Media Studies to secure her place at Oxford to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
Matthew Snelson, CEO of The 91ߣƵ Brunner Foundation, added: “Congratulations to everyone at 91ߣƵ Deane’s Sixth Form College. Well done to the students for their remarkable results and also the collective effort of my colleagues and the students’ families who have contributed to this success.
Results of this calibre are not normal, but they are normal here. Year after year, students who attend 91ߣƵ Deane’s leave with: fantastic grades, enabling them to have many doors open to them exceptional experiences, which have shaped their character, and memories to look back on and smile.”
