Music & Performing Arts

Actors, dancers and musicians may immerse themselves in a wide range of performances both on stage and behind the scenes.

Opportunities to Perform

Music and Performing Arts is a deeply valued aspect of the culture at 91ߣÄÐÊÓƵ Deane’s.

Students have the opportunity to join a talented community of musicians, actors, dancers and budding technicians both on stage and behind the scenes.

An extensive calendar of performing arts events allows musicians to perform as part of the brass, jazz and wind ensembles as well as the concert band and chamber choir, while some of our more intimate shows set the stage for our gifted and talented soloists.

Students also have the opportunity each year to audition for our main College production, which in recent years have included, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Our Country’s Good, Miss Saigon and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2023, the College celebrated three sell-out shows of the cult musical classic, Little Shop of Horrors.

This year, the College is looking forward to presenting the heart-warming play ‘Almost, Maine’, by John Cariani.

Our recent alumni have been awarded places at prestigious conservatoires of music, dance and drama, including the National Conservatoire of Wales, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Royal Northern College of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Ballet West.
